Springs and compression springs
We manufacture all kinds of compression springs:
- Wire diameter range: from Ø0.2mm to Ø8mm
- With any type of steel: carbon steel according to EN 10270-1, stainless steel according to EN 10270-3, zinc-coated, zinc-aluminum…
- Surface treatments: electrolytic zinc plating (from 24h to 720h without corrosion), organic coatings, phosphating, blueing, cataphoresis
- Cylindrical, conical, with round or square-section wire, with facing ends, packed in bulk or in special packaging…
A compression spring is a type of spring designed to support loads when it is axially compressed, that is, when a force is exerted that pushes the ends of the spring towards the center, decreasing its length.
Compression springs come in many different shapes, sizes, and materials, and their load-carrying ability depends on factors such as length, wire diameter, number of coils, and type of material used.
In muelles de Castellano we face the compression springs when necessary. This is a machining process in which a flat surface is created and perpendicular to the ends of the spring. In this way the ends of the spring are parallel and in the same plane, guaranteeing its correct installation and operation.
Compression springs are widely used in the automotive industry, in a variety of applications in the vehicle’s chassis, suspension and engine, for example.
